Editorial Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains how Big Sioux Life creates and maintains the educational content on this site.
Who writes and reviews our content
Our content is written and reviewed by Big Sioux Life with input from licensed insurance professionals. Insurance content is reviewed by a licensed agent for accuracy and appropriate qualification before publication.
How we choose sources
We prefer primary and authoritative sources, such as state departments of insurance, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), official carrier policy documents, and government sources for general tax information. We avoid building important guidance from generic third-party sites.
How often we review content
We review our educational pages periodically and update them when products, regulations, or best practices change. Each guide shows a published or updated date where applicable.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please tell us at info@bigsiouxlife.com. We review reported issues and correct content as needed.
Advertising and carrier relationships
We are an independent agency and may be compensated by insurance carriers when coverage is placed. Our educational content is written to inform, not to favor a particular carrier, and it does not replace policy documents or professional advice.
Not a substitute for advice
Our content is general education. It is not insurance, legal, financial, or tax advice, and it does not replace the actual terms of any policy.
